Many of our players, especially in Fortnite, are under 18. Keeping them safe comes before everything else. This policy applies to every coach and every session.

Our rules for sessions with players under 18

  • A parent or guardian must book the session and give consent.
  • Parents and guardians are welcome to join or listen to any session.
  • Sessions take place only on official HowGaming channels: [Placeholder: e.g. our Discord server and agreed video-call platform].
  • With consent, sessions are recorded and kept for [X days] so they can be reviewed if a concern is raised.
  • Coaches do not contact players privately outside official channels, do not add players on personal social media, and do not arrange in-person meetings.
  • Coaches never ask for personal information beyond what coaching needs, and never ask for account passwords.
  • Language and behaviour in sessions must be appropriate for the player’s age.

Our coaches

Every coach agrees to this policy before coaching. [Placeholder: describe any background checks or references you complete for coaches.]

Reporting a concern

If you are worried about anything that happened in a session, or about a coach’s behaviour, contact our safeguarding lead, [Name], at [Safeguarding email]. We take every concern seriously, respond within one working day, and will suspend coaching while we look into it where appropriate.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
