HowGaming publishes coaching guides and gaming news for players. This policy explains who writes our content, how we check facts, and how we keep readers informed when information changes.

Who writes our content

  • Every article has a named author with a profile page that lists their real experience.
  • Guides for VALORANT, Fortnite and PUBG are written or reviewed by the HowGaming coach for that game.
  • News is written by our editorial team and checked by a second person before publishing.
  • We never invent author identities, credentials, ranks or first-hand experience.

How we check facts

We start with the primary source: the developer or publisher’s own announcement, official patch notes, platform store listings or official social channels. Dates, platforms, prices and version numbers are checked against that source on the day we publish.

When a story comes from another outlet’s reporting, we name and link that outlet. We do not copy or lightly rewrite other publishers’ articles; we add context, analysis or practical advice of our own.

How we label information

LabelWhat it meansWhere it can appear
OfficialConfirmed by the developer, publisher or platformHeadlines and body
ReportedReported by a named, reputable outlet but not officially confirmedHeadlines (attributed) and body
AnalysisOur own interpretation, clearly worded as opinion or expectationBody only
Rumour or leakUnverified claims, including leaked footageBody only, briefly, and only when already widely reported

We never present speculation, rumours or leaks as confirmed news.

Types of content

  • News covers a specific announcement or update and is dated.
  • Guides explain how to improve or how something works, and are updated when patches change the advice.
  • Maintained pages (for example a release date page) are kept current on one URL and include an update log.

Dates and updates

Every article shows when it was published. When we make a meaningful change, we show an “Updated” date. We do not change dates to make old content look new.

Use of AI tools

We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines or copy-editing. A named person is responsible for every fact and every published sentence, and no article is published without human review.

Independence

Our coverage is not paid for by game developers or publishers. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, we label it clearly on the page.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it openly. See our Corrections Policy.
